Treatment solutions for atopic dermatitis - Genetic and environmental factors, changes in the immune system, but also anxiety and stress. There are several causes of the main acute inflammatory skin conditions: dermatitis.

About 301TPTP3T of the world's population suffer from atopic dermatitis. Statistics show that, in general, it tends to affect between 5 and 201TPTP3T of children and between 1 and 3% of adults. In 601TPTP33T of cases the onset of symptoms occurs in the first two years of life. In pediatric age, both sexes are equally affected, whereas in adulthood women are predominantly affected by atopic dermatitis.

What is atopic dermatitis and what do you need to know?

"Atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory skin disease characterized in acute phase by exudative lesions (watery discharge from the skin affected by the inflammatory process), redness, swelling and intense itching, and in chronic phase skin that becomes dry and hard, itchy. It is the consequence of an alteration in the hydrolipid barrier function of the epidermis, the outer layer of the skin. As a result, the skin becomes more permeable, losing water and showing greater exposure to potentially harmful external substances.", explains spa doctor Suzana Pretorian, from the Ensana Health Spa Hotels.

If you're a mom, you've surely heard of atopic dermatitis or maybe you've even experienced this unpleasantness. The first symptoms of atopic eczema appear in the first months of life. And it is in children that atopic eczema is most common. Atopic dermatitis usually disappears by the age of ten, but sometimes this chronic, inflammatory skin disease persists into adulthood. It is estimated that 3% of atopic children will be atopic adults.

What triggers this condition and what inconveniences can occur?

As already mentioned, in addition to heredity, the environment can also be a cause of atopic eczema. Cities with more pollution increase the risk of atopic dermatitis. House dust, dust mites, pollen or food allergens.

Because the hydrolipid barrier of the epidermis does not sufficiently protect the skin, it becomes sensitive (fragile). Also for this reason, for those suffering from atopy, something as seemingly ordinary as a bath can turn into something unpleasant. Not only during bathing, but also during everyday activities, allergens penetrate the skin causing inflammation and itching. This leads to repeated scratching, damaging the skin barrier even more.

Are there solutions?

Of course! Well, find out that in the Ensana -Sovata treatment base, dermatologic diseases are effectively treated and the quality of life of the person with this condition is greatly improved. Specifically, atopic dermatitis (atopic dermatitis can be treated here (allergic food or direct cutaneous allergic component), chronic eczema (infections due to a decrease in local and general cutaneous immunity) and cutaneous psoriasis.

"In atopic dermatitis - especially in children from a few months to a year and even older - complete remission of the lesions can be achieved within two weeks of treatment with salt water and external mud, provided that some basic healthy lifestyle recommendations (e.g. dietary) are followed. When the predominant maintenance factor in chronic eczema is decreased immunity and/or stress, it can be completely cured. In contrast, cutaneous psoriasis is not cured, but markedly improved for a period of at least 3 months , by decreasing inflammation, paling of the rash, intense moisturizing and flake removal (direct gumming effect of salt crystals in salt water and mud), without the adverse effects seen in some people with some of the classic local remedies (creams, ointments). Very important to note: salt water and mud contain substances with a direct bacteriostatic effect.", points out Ensana.
