What is Shiatsu massage?
Shiatsu is a bodywork style developed in Japan. It aims to restore the flow of energy through the body. Shiatsu massage is similar to acupuncturebut uses finger pressure instead of needles. Its name comes from the two Japanese words "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure).
For a shiatsu massage, it is recommended to wear light clothes. There is no need for creams or oils and no need for a special mat or table.
It is done on a press on the floor. The practitioner uses the fingers to apply pressure on specific points of the energy pathway, and other techniques such as stretching and twisting.
Shiatsu treatment is dedicated to the whole body, not just to an area where symptoms are evident. The whole body is carefully worked on with finger pressure on all areas. You will feel energy in the whole body, you will feel its reactions.
A Shiatsu session lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour. You will feel the whole body working, the therapist touching your charged points. Free yourself from stress, from tension, let the magic fingers apply pressure on specific points of the energy pathway.
What could be more pleasant than a massage complete, full-body pampering?
