In December 2010 we launched despreSpa.ro (now Wellandia) out of a desire to share with as many people as possible the discovery that I had felt on my own skin: that Spa is health, not indulgence. We have detailed here.
Shortly after, I met some spa professionals who had worked for years in 5* spas abroad and realized how important it is that the market - then at an early stage - to grow on healthy foundations.
Otherwise, there was a risk that what we were communicating to the general public would remain just words - without any real support in what they experienced at the Spa.
That is why, since 2011, day by day we have been building Spa community in Romania which is based on our values combined with these 4 principles:
1. Only together we can put Romania on the International Spa Map. If only 3-5 spas offer top international services - it's for nothing.
Wherever a customer enters, they need the best possible experience and unique service they have never experienced anywhere else in the world - to surprise and delight them.
Only then will we have a free promotion of Romania as a Spa & Balneo tourism destination.
2. We are primarily in competition with ourselves: we need to be better today than we were yesterday = today to provide better service than we did yesterday.
3. I extrapolated the principle that a good teacher is not the one who teaches students with 9 and 10 grades and keeps them at the same level, but is the one who manages to bring students from grade 5 to grade 9.
4. We communicate and we bring out only what is positive and constructive from each Spa. This motivates managers to constantly evolve.
