The canons of oriental beauty and the secrets of honey epilation

Let us discover together the canons of oriental beauty and the secrets of honey waxing. As this is December, a month full of joy, surprises, gifts, but also stories and legends, I thought we'd unravel some stories and legends from ancient times...

The canons of beauty in the Renaissance were associated with the mature woman, and the attributes of beauty were associated with three white things: skin, teeth and hands, three red things: lips, cheeks and nails and three black things - eyes, eyebrows and eyelashes.

I agree with these canons especially when we talk about the... white attributes of beauty...

Let's leave the "old continent" (= Europe, I believe the saying belongs to Winston Churchill) for the oriental world, the world of the mysteries of the "Thousand and One Nights" .

It is said that King Solomon was in love and was about to marry the Queen of Sheba, but at the sight of the queen's feet he exclaimed:

"O Sheba, your beauty is unequaled among women, but your hair is that of a man! The hair is a man's adornment, but it disfigures the woman." A hadith will state that Solomon, despite his pressing desire to marry at Belqis, had to be patient until a powerful epilator was made for him, which the queen, understanding, applied to his legs."

This legend confirms and reinforces one of the canons of beauty in the Eastern world

- the need to remove body hair by "traditional oriental" epilation - the attribute of oriental women's hygiene and beauty from ancient times to today.

Investigating the practices of the oriental world I discovered an old yet new and little known method of hair removal in our country - natural honey hair removal, a pleasant surprise brought to Romania by Charme d'Orient, thanks to Mrs. Nicoleta Bechis.

Honey, fabulous food and miracle "medicine", yesterday I discovered another attribute of this wonderful ingredient. Ruxandra gave me the most gentle and delicate hair removal. What enchanted me was the fragrant scent of warm honey (I don't do well with the smell of warm wax,) the smooth gumming of the skin and the gentle but firm massage performed with each application of the honey phases.

Let's see what are the secrets of this wonderful honey paste according to wilkipedia:

Auguste Debay (1802 - 1890), a French military doctor and writer in his 1853 book entitled "Hygiene medicale du visage et de la peau, formulaire de la beaute" says: "They (the women) throw the honey into a basin of boiling water and withdraw it as soon as it begins to condense, then knead it in their hands forming large sheets resembling sheets of dough and thin as pastry rolls; these honeyed strips applied to the skin and suddenly removed at the end of four minutes, pull out all the hairs... To soothe the irritation caused by the violent pulling out of the hair, they smear themselves with cocoa butter."

We have "wandered" the continents and in ancient times to discover "historical sources" about the long use of honey. Both for the removal of superfluous hair and about honey This miraculous elixir is indispensable in skin care cosmetics.

The manual technique to remove hair from the roots is to use honey paste at body temperature.

Thanks to its properties, this paste removes all dead cells and stimulates blood circulation. After its removal, the skin can be washed gently with warm water because honey is biodegradable.

This method is ideal for sensitive, flaky skin and fragile capillaries.

The canons of oriental beauty and the secrets of honey waxing. The after-effects are:

- slow hair growth;

- eliminating the folliculitis effect;

- mitigating the growth of friable hollow hairs.

The method of application can be considered "cold", it is less painful than other hair removal methods.

Honey paste is malleable, antiseptic, antibacterial, nourishing, heat resistant, with healing properties. It slows hair growth and helps prevent the growth of hairs under the skin. Over time, this method is equivalent to a semi-definitive epilation, as hair stops growing in certain areas.

Thanks to its deep and gentle peeling and moisturizing function, epilation with honey paste is also a particularly effective body treatment.
